Built into the frame.
Meta AI
Say “Hey Meta” and ask about what you’re looking at: a building, a menu, a plant on the trail. Meta AI sees through the camera and answers through the speakers in the arms. Live translation covers six languages and works without Wi-Fi, so it keeps up when you travel.
Capture
The 12 MP ultrawide camera sits in the frame at eye level and records 3K ultra-HD video, 2203 × 2938 at 30 fps. Press the capture button or ask out loud, and the shot is taken from your point of view. Photos and clips move to the Meta AI app when you’re ready to share.
Listen
Two open-ear speakers built into the arms play music, podcasts and calls while you still hear the room and the street around you. A five-microphone array picks up your voice clearly for calls, voice messages and commands.
Controls
Speak, tap or press. “Hey Meta” handles most things hands-free, the touchpad on the arm covers playback and volume, and the capture button takes a photo in one press. Tap and hold the touchpad to start Spotify without touching your phone.
Battery
Up to 8 hours on a charge, twice the original Ray-Ban Meta. The charging case holds up to 40 more hours, so the glasses go from morning plans to an evening out with a top-up in between.
Meta AI app
Pair the glasses with the Meta AI app on your iPhone or Android phone to import photos and video, change settings and connect Spotify. Make calls and send messages on WhatsApp, Messenger and your phone. Setup takes a Meta account and an internet connection.

Yes. Choose Prescription under Lens, then select your lenses and enter your prescription. Lenses come from ZEISS, Hoya and Transitions, in single vision, bifocal and progressive.
How do I know my glasses are Gen 2?
Look inside the arm. Gen 2 frames are marked “(gen 2)” on the inner temple.
What’s new compared to the original Ray-Ban Meta?
Video goes up to 3K, 6.5 MP against 2.8 MP. Battery doubles to up to 8 hours from 4. Standby rises to 19 hours from 12.5, calls to 5.3 hours from 4, and music to 5 hours from 3.5.
How is Gen 2 different from Gen 3?
Both take 12 MP photos and record 3K video. Gen 3 lasts longer, up to 9 hours against 8, and its case holds up to 50 more hours against 40. It also adds a sixth microphone, room for 1,000+ photos instead of 500+, and an action button. Gen 2 has the newer Wi-Fi 6E standard and more frame choices, including two Optics styles.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 8 hours on a charge, with up to 40 more hours from a fully charged case. Standby runs up to 19 hours, calls up to 5.3 and music up to 5. Real battery life depends on how you use them.
What do I need to use them?
A Meta account, the Meta AI app, and a compatible iPhone or Android phone with an internet connection. You need to be 13 or older. Some features vary by country.
Is a charging cable included?
No. The box holds the glasses, the charging case, a cleaning cloth and a quick start guide. Ray-Ban ships the line without a cable to reduce waste, so use one you already have.
